How many bands participate in the event?

Historically, around 25 bands compete each year.

What type of bands will be competing?  

All kinds! Each band will bring their own cultural flair as they compete, giving an extraordinary show for viewers. From drum corps to full marching bands, the event will showcase only the best. Performances and participation will include both student groups and professional band members.  

Is the competition open to the public?

Yes! As the event gets closer, we’ll post the full schedule of events and where to purchase tickets.

The band competition will take place at Ross Stadium on the campus of Buckhannon’s West Virginia Wesleyan College: 59 College Ave, Buckhannon, WV 26201.

CVBs help provide visitors with information about what recreational activities, restaurants, entertainment, lodging and more are within certain areas.

What are Economic Development Authorities (EDAs)?

Economic Development Authorities are organizations that help develop and advance business wellbeing and overall economic welfare of counties and the state. The West Virginia Development Office works on the state level for better economic opportunity while many county level EDAs exist throughout the state.  

What are Chambers of Commerce?

Chambers of Commerce are associations of businesspeople designed to support and promote its members and create networks. Many counties in the state have their own chambers of commerce that advocate on behalf of local businesses. The West Virginia Chamber of Commerce is a state-level organization with members from across all 55 West Virginia counties.

What does the West Virginia Office of Tourism do?

The West Virginia Office of Tourism work to promote nationally and internationally the various types of recreation opportunities and events the state has available. Much like the state’s regional CVBs, the tourism office has various types of information to help individuals plan and enjoy their stay in the Mountain State.
